The blank is a strip of metal having opening for the needle rollers and rolled for the end edges of the strip to confront one another. The end edges extend at right angles to the side edges of the strip except that the one end edge, where adjoining the side edges, is cut back to form bevels while the other end edge has projections shaped to receive the bevels and thereby align the ends of the strip when these are abutted for welding. The projections have a wider angle than the bevels to ensure commencement of welding at the right angle edges. |
