A sliding surface for a machine component, where a sliding facing is separately produced and then glued onto the component, is made by manufacturing the sliding facing, along with lubricating pockets and bearing regions situated in a clearly defined plane. In one prefd. method, the lubricating pockets and the supporting regions (i.e. raised areas) are formed in a pressing mould which itself is produced from a master template having a precision machined surface from which the lubricating pockets have been hollowed out. In another method, the pressing mould is formed with a precision machined surface where the regions corresponding to the lubricating pockets are thickened by electrolytic coating. In yet another method, the sliding facing is produced by rolling between a pair of rolls, one of which has the desired negative surface formation. |
