摘要 PURPOSE:To uniform the calcined product and improve the efficiency of electric power, by means of an electric power control apparatus for detecting a stepped change of the electric characteristics in the furnace to judge the completion of the calcination and cut off the input electric power provided in a graphitizing furnace for calcining an artificial graphite. CONSTITUTION:In a process for preparing an artificial graphite usable as an electrode by heat calcining a graphite material in a graphitizing furnace, the electric resistance of the graphite material reduces with the progress of the heat calcination and increases at the starting of the crystallization stepwise, and the point of time is almost in agreement with the completion of the calcination. Based on the properties of the graphite material, an electric power control apparatus consisting of a voltage transducer 8, an electric current transducer 10, a power-factor transducer 12, arithmetic circuits 13 and 14, a judging circuit 15 and a command circuit 16 is provided to detect the stepwise change of electric resistance, judge the completion of the calcination and cut off the input electric power.
