A fluid is introduced into a space (6) between a cover (5) and an outer casing (8) to which are attached a number of blades (8c), and mounted in the said space (6) is a dividing wall (4) with two fluid inlets (4a', 4b'). An inner case (7) is mounted between the dividing wall (4) and the outer case (8) to form a space between the cover (5) and the dividing wall (4); an inner torque transmission chamber (7') is provided between the dividing wall (4) and the inner case (7), and an outer torque transmission chamber (8') is provided between the inner case (7) and the outer case (8). One of the fluid inlets (4a', 4b') of the dividing wall (4) is provided in order to establish a connection with the inner torque transmission chamber (7'), while the other fluid inlet (4b') serves to establish a connection with the outer torque transmission chamber (8). The two fluid inlets (4a', 4b') are opened and closed by means of two valves (13, 14) set to respond at different temperatures. The fluid coupling, which is fitted with a temperature sensor, is capable of suppressing noise and nevertheless of reducing energy consumption. <IMAGE>
