摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a baked flux for submerged arc welding by which highly tough weld metal of low oxygen and low nitrogen is obtd. by specifying the total amt. of MgO, CaO and BaO in the compsn. and the total amt. of Al2O3, SiO2 and TiO2. CONSTITUTION:A baked flux for submerged arc welding consists of 30-45% MgO, 1.5-7% CO2 (in the form of carbonate), 5-15% CaF2, 3-7%<=1 kind among Na2O, K2O and Li2O, 0.5-5%>=1 kind of metallic Si and Ti, 7-17% SiO, 2-15%>=1 kind of CaO and BaO, <=10% TiO2 and <=1.5% B2O3. The components in such compsn. are specified at MgO+CaO+BaO=32-47%, Al2O3+ SiO2+ TiO2=27-42%. The weld metal having excellent low temp. toughness, more particularly COD characteristic is obtd. by such compsn. without spoiling welding operability.
