PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to do a fine and subtle opening or closing control of a car door in accordance with a driver's will by controlling the door so as to generate a door-operating force corresponding to the magnitude and the direction of the operating force of the driver against the opening/closing car door. SOLUTION: A door operating power generator is provided with an electromagnetic clutch 24 transmitting the door operating force generated in a driving structure composed of a motor 13 getting the electric power from a battery and outputting a torque and a speed reducing structure. The generated door operating force is applied to the car door 2. The magnitude and direction of the operating force to open/close the cardoor by the driver are detected by pressure sensors 6-9 equipped on the handle 4, 5 of the inside and outside of the car door 2. The controller 35 of the door operation force controls the generator of the door operation force on the basis of the operating force signals 6a-9a detected by the pressure sensors 6-9 so that a door operation force corresponding to the magnitude and direction of the operation force applied by the driver against the cardoor 2 is generated.
