PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate an artificial printing miss by instructing an alteration of a sheet size when a sheet side of a document does not coincide with that of a recording sheet in the case of instructing a print, re-editing print information and image data to correspond to the sheet side of the recording sheet and printing it. SOLUTION: If a request of printer information is received from a host computer 3000, a CPU 12 of an LB 150 selects sheet size and printing direction optimum for a document according to status information, resolution of a printer, and a sheet size of a recording sheet charged in a sheet cassette. If the selected sheet size is different from the size of the recording sheet charged in a sheet cassette of a LBP 1500, information for instructing an alteration of the sheet size is displayed on a display 10. If it does not fall within a printable range of the altered size, print information and image data are edited, output to a printing unit 17, and printed. |
