PURPOSE:To reduce fluctuations in the fiber volume content of a preform and to improve shape-holding property by performing degreasing while bringing an injection-molded body of a kneaded material consisting of ceramic whiskers and organic binder into contact with a ceramic porous body. CONSTITUTION:An organic binder, such as paraffinic wax, and ceramic whiskers are kneaded. Subsequently, degreasing treatment is carried out while bringing an injection-molded body of the resulting kneaded material into contact with a porous body of ceramic material. By this method, a preform can be formed into a state where fluctuations in fiber volume percentage (Vf) value are reduced and shape-holding property is improved. |
