The burner, which can burn either liquid or gaseous fuel, has a burner tube (3) with a combustion chamber (4). The fuel is supplied through a tube (6) to a nozzle (5). Combustion air (17) is supplied by a radial flow fan (15). The volumetric flow of air is controlled by an axially sliding sleeve (22) which is mounted co-axially with the fan rotor and varies the effective axial length of the fan blades (16) and thus throttles the flow through the fan. The sleeve (22) is actuated by a screwed spindle (30) which is driven by an electric motor (27). USE - Burner with air flow regulator.
