PURPOSE:To impregnate a sufficient quantity of electrolyte in a battery to improve the performance of a battery and prolong the lifetime thereof by heating a porous substrate of a unit cell of a fuel cell to perform the degrease and thereafter, supplying the electrolyte for impregnation, and stacking the porous substrate on an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A unit cell 3 set on a jig 2 is carried to a place near a fuel cell 1 with the movement of the jig 2, and dislocated onto the fuel cell 1 for stack by a jig 4. At this stage, a porous substrate is heated for degrease at about 600 deg.C, at which the binder is burned for sputtering perfectly and the electrolyte 10b is in a liquid state, by a heating furnace 6. Thereafter, an appropriate quantity of the electrolyte 10b is supplied from a nozzle of an electrolyte supplying device 7. A predetermined number of unit cells are stacked by repeating this work to form the fuel cell 1. Since degrease is performed per each time of stacking a cell 3, the carrier gas is diffused sufficiently to perform the degrease efficiently and surely, and since the electrolyte is not fused, a sufficient quantity of electrolyte can be impregnated. |
