PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material excellent in ink absorbability, blocking properties and beading resistance even when a large amount of ink is applied in high density by adding a water-soluble org. compound and a water-insoluble org. compound to an ink receiving layer and making the pure water absorbing quantity of the receiving layer twice or more the wt. thereof. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble compound is one whose solubility is 10g or more per 100g of pure water at 25 deg.C and a water-insoluble compound is one whose solubility is below 1g under the same condition and the compounding ratio of both compounds is pref. (2:8)-(8:2). An ink receiving layer is once applied to a base material using a common good solvent and, after drying, a solvent being a poor solvent to at least one of the org. compounds but a good solvent to the other org. compound is applied to the ink receiving layer to be dried or the compounds are dissolved in the solvent being the poor solvent to one of the compounds but the good solvent to the other compound under heating to be applied and dried. |
