OPTICAL MODULE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical module for a hybrid optical integrated circuit which has a sealing structure with superior economy and reliability and the manufacture thereof. SOLUTION: This optical module is embedded in resin 22 wherein an optical waveguide 11 provided on a substrate 12 is molded. In this case, a resin stopper 15 which prevents the resin 22 from flowing to a waveguide end surface is provided at an input/output end part while surrounding the optical waveguide 11 and substrate 12 and the end surface of the optical waveguide 11 is exposed to the outside.
