PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the display irregularity of a picture near the boundary between the area of a display screen and the other area. SOLUTION: This element is provided with an element substrate 14 provided with one main surface (called as a first main surface hereafter), an opposing substrate 13 provided with one main surface (called as a second main surface hereafter), a liquid crystal layer 6 enclosed between the element substrate 14 and the opposing substrate 13 and a seal material 7. The element substrate 14 is provided with a TFT picture element 10 on the first main surface. In the meantime, the opposing substrate 13 is provided with a microlens 2 formed on the second main surface, a spacer 3 arranged around the microlens 2 and formed on the second main surface and cover glass 5 provided on the microlens 2 and the spacer 3. |
