PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a breakage starting position by forming a breakage predetermined part into an H-shape by left and right vertical grooves and a lateral groove connecting the vertical groove intermediate points mutually and marking the breakage predetermined part thinner than the thickness of a surrounded corner part by the center of the lateral groove and the approximately middle of the vertical grooves. SOLUTION: In a ceiling wall 31, a general part 37 of a module cover 7 surrounded by a breakage predetermined part 35 is opened to the both sides vertically, when the H-shaped breakage predetermined part 35 is broken if an air bag main body 3 is inflated. That, is when the air bag main body 3 is inflated by means of gas jetted from an inflator so as to push up the thin breakage predetermined part 35 in the module cover 7, vertical intermediate parts 45, 47 in vertical grooves 41, 43, which are the thinnest parts in the breakage predetermined part 35, are fixed as breakage starting positions, and breakage starts from the vertical intermediate parts 45, 47 in the vertical grooves 41, 43, so that breakage proceeds at once in the vertical grooves 41, 43 and a lateral groove 49. As a result, a breakage time is shortened, and inflation itself of the air bag main body, which is expanded from the breakage opening part of the module cover 7 toward the interior, can be accelerated. |
