The control means 8 changes the distance between the main body 1 and the object in the surrounding of the main body 1 according to the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 7, and controls the traveling direction of the main body 1. Thus, this self-propelled equipment is able to escape according to the level of danger of the situation of whether the obstacle is a high temperature dangerous substance or a human body or an inorganic substance whose danger is small by using the temperature as the scale of the level of danger. Therefore, this self-propelled equipment is able to work much nearer the obstacle when it is safe.
