The present invention discloses a tortilla-making machine comprising a short oven that due to the structural conformity thereof enhances the tortilla production and presents a minimum consumption of gas and electrical power. The oven includes a plurality of plates: an upper plate; four lateral plates, i.e., left and right sides; two plates at both edges which join the four lateral plates, and a lower plate having three vent grooves. The oven has therein a funnel-shaped or an air and gas container that embodies at one edge thereof a narrow portion; when the air passage is opened the fire is forwardly driven within the oven passing by a wide portion of the funnel and achieving the required pressure for baking tortillas in a shorter time, meanwhile the generated heat is maintained by means of the abovementioned system. There are two burners or jets placed under a conveyor belt or "comal" that contribute to bake the tortilla back portion. Said conveyor belt carries tortillas from a head t o a receiving belt passing by a preset perimeter. The length of the conveyor belt or "comal" is shorter than those existing in the market, said belt has a greater operation rate that goes beyond the limits of those so-called modern belts. The tortilla-making machine is driven by a low power engine, which moves the head to the conveyor belt or "comal" and ends at the receiving belt. Said oven needs a fan with a small engine, which is useful for mixing air and gas and driving the same in order to reach the impingement point or the end edge of the oven with enough pressure.
