A thin film transistor substrate is provided to have a high transmittance and improve the response speed, by forming a pixel electrode having branch electrodes such that each branch electrode has grooves with boundary lines inclined in obtuse angles with respect to the extending direction thereof. A plurality of gate lines are formed above a substrate. A plurality of common lines are formed above the substrate, wherein the common lines are composed of a transparent conductor. Data lines cross the gate lines. Thin film transistors are connected to the gate lines and the data lines. A plurality of pixel electrodes(191) are connected to the thin film transistors, and overlap the common electrodes. Each of the pixel electrodes includes a plurality of branch electrodes(191a), which are connected to one another and parallel to one another. The branch electrode includes grooves(191a') having boundary lines inclined in obtuse angles with respect to the extending direction thereof.
