PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder which can easily replace sheets even when the number of the sheets remaining on a sheet loading plate is few.SOLUTION: A paper feeder includes: a sheet pushing-up member 25 for pushing-up a sheet bundle P on a sheet loading plate 24 from the lower side; and pushing-up member driving means which, when the number of sheets of the sheet bundle P on the sheet loading plate 24 exceeds a predetermined number of sheets, locates the sheet pushing-up member 25 into an upper surface or less of the sheet loading plate 24, on the other hand, when the number of sheets of the sheet bundle P on the sheet loading plate 24 is the predetermined number of sheets or less, protrudes at least a part of the sheet pushing-up member 25 to the upper side than the upper surface of the sheet loading plate 24, pushes up a part of a lower surface of a sheet p of the lowermost position of the sheet bundle P placed on the sheet loading plate 24 from the lower side by the sheet loading plate 24 and, thereby, the pushing-up member driving means which forms a gap C between the lower surface of the sheet p of the lowermost position and the upper surface of the sheet loading plate 24 is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5B |
