Embodiments of the invention relate to the control of fuel flow and temperature, for example, in cooking apparatus. Such embodiments include a temperature control system for safely controlling the rate of flow of a flammable fluid at generally constant pressure to accurately control temperature and to improve safety by limiting undesirable conditions such as flame outs. The combination of features including an apparatus free of a pressure regulator mechanism permits this control.
