<p>1,087,038. Shredding apparatus. K. BRATRING. Nov. 26, 1964, No. 48127/64. Heading B2A. [Also in Division G2] A comminution pump comprises a worm or screw 9 rotating inside a cylindrical casing 2. The periphery of the screw has teeth 11 which move in grooves 13 formed in four longitudinal bars 12 (see also Fig. 2, not shown) fitted inside the casing, the clearance being relatively small. An electric motor drives the screw at a speed exceeding 1500 r.p.m. The material to be shredded is drawn in through an inlet 3, in which is disposed a "beater" blade 10, and after treatment is expelled through a strainer plate 7 and pipe 15. -The device is used for shredding used film stock in a reclamation process (see Division G2), the film being shredded in the presence of water.</p> |
