[Also in Division C2] Therapeutic compositions having #-adrenolytic and hypotensive activity and being in forms suitable for oral, rectal or parenteral administration comprise a novel compound of formula or an acid addition salt thereof wherein R is C 1-4 alkyl R 1 is H, haolgen or C 1-4 alkyl, R 2 is halogen, CF 3 or C 1-4 alkyl and R 3 is ammo or cyano and a pharmaceutical carrier or excipient optionally with the addition of a heart or circulation-active sympathicomimetic or coronary delator for example, 2,6-bis (diethanolamino)-4, 8-dipiperidino-pyrimido-[5, 4- d]-pyrimidine.
