The annular sealing surfaces (16, 20) of a valve body (10) and an associated shutter (12) are constituted by a locus of circles generated by the intersection of the ruled surface of a cone (K) having an elliptical base with planes parallel to one another and normal to a longitudinal axis (A>1<) of the valve. The invention also relates to a process and a machine tool for generating the annular sealing surfaces (16, 20).
