<p>1523008 Capacitors SIEMENS AG 10 June 1976 [11 June 1975] 24005/76 Heading H1M In the manufacture of a batch of capacitors by sawing up a parent capacitor, the parent capacitor comprises aluminium coatings on stretched foils of heat shrinkable plastics material and a layer of fusible polyolefin is arranged on the parent capacitor so that the saw blade initially passes through the fusible polyolefin layer and thereafter the capacitively active layers. Heat generated on sawing fuses the polyolefin which functions as a lubricant and coolant, and on resolidifying provides insulation in the region of the cut surfaces. Heat generated also causes shrinkage of the dielectric foils in the region of the cut edges, which shrinkage results in local breaking up of the aluminium coating into islands insulated from each other.</p> |
