PURPOSE:To provide a sufficient recording characteristic and preservation stability and to lessen dependence on a wavelength of a laser light, by making specific asymmetrical cyanine dyestuff borne on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:An optical information recording medium for conducting recording, reproduction or erasure by means of laser beams is proposed, and asymmetrical cyanine dyestuff expressed by the formula is borne on a substrate therein. In the formula, Z<1> and Z<2> denote alkyl, aryl or alkenyl, Q denotes N or C-R<4>, X<-> denotes a negative ion, G denotes an atomic group for completing an oxazole ring, an imidazole ring, a thiazole ring, a selenazole ring, a tellurazole ring, a pyridine ring, or a hereto ring formed of a benzene ring, a naphthalene ring, a pyridine ring, a quinoline ring or a quinoxaline condensed into any one of the aforesaid rings, in connection with N-R<3>, and L denotes a trivalent group formed of a methine group or three, five or seven methine groups or a substituted methine group so connected as to form conjugated double bonds. |
