In a form-fill machine an enlarged gap (125) between a forming collar (124) and the filling tube (126) permits a web (34) of bag material to be passed through the forming collar with a blind header (22) including a resealable fastening strip (23) folded flat against it. The header remains flat against the web (34) until lifted from it after emerging from the collar. A filled reclosable bag having a single transverse seam adjacent a fastening strip can be produced by presenting a web having a pre-folded edge or edges to the form-fill machine.
