PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict consumption of a process unit and ensure a printing speed by switching a monochromic and a color printing modes and carrying out printing by a predetermined number of times in accordance with the designated mode when a printing job includes a color or monochromic printing process command. SOLUTION: When a specific condition is satisfied in one printing job, entire printing afterwards is carried out in a color printing mode. For example, when color pages exist in the printing job and once the mode is switched to the color mode, succeeding pages including pages designated to be printed monochromically are printed totally in the color printing mode. Alternatively, the number of switching times to the color printing mode is counted, and pages afterwards are totally printed in the color printing mode when the color printing mode is switched by a specific number of times. This way of controlling to switch the color printing mode and monochromic printing mode ensures a printing speed while suppressing consumption and deterioration of a process unit. |
