The tool has two curved parts (1,2) which have pointed ends (3,4). It is made in semi-hard plastic material and the curved parts are joined together by a plastic hinge (5) to form a single piece. The pointed ends are first used as a scraper to detach the mollusc from its shell. Then they are opened and closed by hand, like a pincer, to remove the mollusc from its shell and to convey it to the mouth.
