PURPOSE: To provide a wire bonder in which a wire clamp mechanism comprising a pair of clamper bodies for clamping or releasing a wire inserted into a capillary can be regulated quite easily to clamp the wire by means of the clamp pieces provided at the tips of both clamper bodies without damaging the wire. CONSTITUTION: Both clamper bodies 8, 9 are provided with reference planes 19a, 19b, 20a, 20b abutting against each other upon closure of the clamp bodies 8, 9. Clamp pieces 17, 18 of both clamper bodies are bonded through adhesive to the tips of respective clamper bodies such that the clamp planes 17a, 18a of the clamp pieces will be in flush with the reference planes. |
