PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope in which insertion property of an insertion tube is improved by reducing the diameter of a bending section connected with a distal end constituting the insertion tube. SOLUTION: A distal end constitution member 20 has a distal end bending piece arranging stage part 71, a transition part 72, a distal end forming part 74, etc. The distal end forming part 74 constitutes the outer shape of the distal end constitution member 20, and its center position is OA. The transition part 72 is the so-called reference surface of a bending section 9b, and its center position is OB. A distal end bending piece 51a is arranged at the distal end bending piece arranging stage part 71. The outer peripheral surface of the distal end bending piece arranging stage part 71 has a diameter smaller than that of the outer peripheral surface of the transition part 72. At the distal end bending piece arranging stage part 71, notch parts 75b, 75c, 75d and 75e are formed for removing the outer peripheral side thickness part, so-called wall, of through holes 20b, 20c, 20d and 45. By removing the outer peripheral side thickness part, eccentricity of the center positions OA and OB are increased to reduce the diameter of the distal end bending piece 51a.
