METHOD OF INHIBITING ACTIVITY OF HEXOSAMINIDASE

A method for inhibiting activity of hexosaminidase in an insect cell is provided to change a simple sugar moiety structure into a complicated sugar moiety structure in an expressed protein, so that the expressed protein is suitable as medicine protein for human. The activity of hexosaminidase in an insect cell selected from Drosophila melanogaster and Bombyx mori(moth) is inhibited by adding 2-acetamido-1,2-dideoxynojirimycin(2-AND) as an inhibitor of hexosaminidase into the insect cell in the amount of 0.3-1.0 mM per 300000-10000000 of insect cells, wherein the sugar protein obtained from the insect cell whose hexosaminidase activity is inhibited has an N-acetylglucosamine moiety.
