PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric ceramic composition capable of giving devices which are high in piezoelectric strain constant, small in temporal change in resonant frequency, low in porosity and high in denseness, thus suitable for actuators. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric ceramic composition comprises (Pb1-x Lax ) [Zr1-y Tiy ]1-x/4 O3 (0.03<=(x)<=0.07, 0.38<=(y)<=0.48) as the major ingredient, and SnO2 as the auxiliary ingredient added at 0.3 to 1.8wt.% per molar weight of the major ingredient. La(OH)3 is used as the La source. The green compact of the above composition is fired in an atmosphere with at least 80% oxygen partial pressure. |
