摘要 1268569 Portable containers; container closures A S GILIO N GORTZ and M B MACCARONE 3 April 1969 17430/69 Headings F1R and R15D [Also in Divisions A5 and F2] A container 2 for dispensing fluids under pressure comprises a resilient bladder 42 which contracts from an expanded condition when filled or partially filled with fluid to eject the fluid through a valved dispenser outlet 64 to a contracted flattened condition when empty of fluid, the wall of the bladder being maintained in a tensioned state when in the empty contracted condition to ensure that all fluid within the bladder is ejected. The bladder, which is of tubular shape initially, is housed in a plastics vented casing 4 and is clamped at its upper end between the casing neck and the dispenser outlet. A test-tube shaped, longitudinally-fluted mandrel 30 extends upwardly from the base of the casing and the bladder is stretched downwardly over the mandrel for half the length of the mandrel and is then folded backwardly upon itself so that in the initial empty contracted pos- ition of the bladder, Fig. 2, the bladder is in a stretched or tensioned condition. Fluid previously forced under pressure through the valved outlet may be dispensed by depressing a button-operated, closed-ended tube, Figs. 7-8 (not shown), which unseats a cup-shaped valve 66 permitting the extended bladder to force fluid through openings 70 in the valve and side openings 70 in the valve and side openings 88 in the tube 86. By depressing, the tube 86 far enough, the valve springs over-centre and remains open after release of the valveoperating button 78. The container may be used for intravenous feeding, the container being strapped to the upper arm. The arm strapping, flow regulator 99, needle, and tape 98 may be stored in the hollow mandrel. In a modification, Figs. 11-12 (not shown), the casing has front and rear walls of convex and concave shape respectively to facilitate strapping to a patient's arm, and the bladder is held in a pre-tensioned empty condition by stretching it out flat with opposite walls 108, 110 tight against each other and bonding the stretched wall 108 to the casing. In a similar modification, Fig. 13 (not shown) a polyethylene bag 12 lies between the bladder and the casing and is connected to a valved inlet 124 whereby a further fluid may be drawn into the bag on dispensing fluid from the bladder. In a final embodiment, Figs. 14-16 (not shown) similar to the first described embodiment and for dispensing viscous fluids, e.g. ketch-up, the dispenser outlet is provided with spout 204 and a ported, tubular valve element 192, sliding in a fixed valve-member 180, and a resilient disc 206 biasing the valve element to a closed position.
