The sheets of the sailing boat are clamped between pairs of sprung cleats (1) which are pivoted on shafts mounted on mounting plates. The shafts have grooves into which locating clips (2) in the cleat pivot drop to secure the cleat. The cleats are thus simple to fit, as a press fit mounting so that the mass production and assembly of the fittings is simplified.
