The hydraulic circuit discharge valve has a body containing a sealed chamber which can be connected to a circuit for fluid under pressure, while a plug working against a seat allows fluid escape from the chamber. The plug is pressed against the seat, which is on a partition sliding freely in the chamber so as to reach a state of equilibrium between the fluid pressure in the chamber and a return spring (24) bearing against the other face of the partition. A cylindrical member with a smaller diameter head portion lifts the plug off the seat.
