PURPOSE:To certainly detect the wrinkles in a sheet like article to be inspected, by applying predetermined correction to output signals generated by the light incident to a plurality of photoelectric converting elements. CONSTITUTION:Emitted light is reflected from the surface of an aluminum foil 1 and the reflected light is received by a detection part 3. In the case of the surface reflecting light in large quantity of the aluminum foil 1, the detection part 3 is arranged at the position 3b receiving irregular reflection light. When wrinkles 5 are present at this time, irregular reflection is generated at the uneven parts of the wrinkles 5 and the quantity of light incident to a plurality of the photoelectric converting elements of the detection part 3 corresponding to the wrinkles 5 increases. In the case of the surface reflecting light slightly the detection parts 3 is arranged at a position 3a receiving regular reflection part. When the wrinkles 5 are present at this time, the quantity of light incident to a plurality of the photoelectric converting elements of the detection part 3 corresponding to the wrinkles 5 is reduced by irregular reflection. Because the light receiving positions of regular reflection and irregular reflection are determined by the positional relation between the detection part 3 and a light projection part 2, either one of them may be moved. Received light is converted to an electrical output signal which is, in turn, sent to a control and signal processing part 4 to perform correction of multiplying the reciprocal of the output signal. |
