STITCHER ROLL OF A TYRE BUILDING APPARATUS

The present invention relates to a stitcher roll (15) for a tyre building apparatus, intended for use in the preparation of tyre blanks using an assembly drum designed to receive the various layers of the tyre. The stitcher roll cooperates with the assembly drum and comprises a plurality of identical disks which can move one towards the other as well as radially on one axle (1) relative to the assembly drum. Each disk has an inner part as well as an outer ring (5) rotating around it due to a ball-type bearing (4). The inner part presents a recess, with the side surfaces (6) of which it slides on the side surfaces (7) of the axle radially relative to the assembly drum, and the length of the recess is larger by a stroke length than the corresponding dimension of the axle, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the stitcher roll. The axle is provided with as many perforations as there are disks. The perforations are oriented radially relative to the assembly drum, and in each of them there is a pin (11) acting as a grip in the inner part of the disk concerned. The axle is provided with channels (12) intended to feed a pressure carrier to one perforation.
