<p>PURPOSE:To improve the running stability of a vehicle by enabling rear wheels to be automatically steered in response to the running position and running conditions of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel steering mechanism 1 is provided with a transmission shaft 4 being supported on the spring upper member side of a suspension 5, and a cam body 8 which is arranged inside a case 7 having been fixed on an axle beam 6 being the spring underside member of the suspension 5 and which is connected to the end of a transmission shaft 4 being extended into the inside of the case. Movable rods 9 being supported so as to be slidable in the vehicle-width direction are provided to the case 7 as cam connectors. The movable rods 9 support a pair of rotary rollers 10 as cam followers which abut on the outer circumferential surface of the cam body 8. If a lateral acceleration G is applied to the vehicle to cause rolling, the cam body is relatively turned to the cam followers, and since the rear wheels are automatically steered in the same phase direction as the front wheels, the sideslip at the time of turning can be controlled.</p> |
