DEVICE FOR MEASURING SIDE CROP OF THICK STEEL PLATE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the yield of steel stocks by sampling width values of a thick steel plate every constant distance on the outlet side of a rolling means and adjusting a thickness setting pattern of the rolling means according to a parameter calculated based on the plate width information. CONSTITUTION:A steel stock 7 delivered from a rough rolling mill (rolling means) 6 is passed through a finish rolling mill 8 and a straightener 9 to be a thick steel plate. Widths of the thick steel plate is detected by a width gage (outlet side plate width detecting means) 10. The widths are sampled every a constant distance in the plate transfer direction. Sampled groups of plate width information are processed to calculate a shape parameter of distribution of width variations. A roll drafting device (rolling adjusting means) 6e is controlled based on the parameter and a rolling control means adjusts a thickness setting pattern of the rough rolling mill (rolling adjusting means) 6e corresponding to respective positions in the transfer direction of the plate. Thus, the yield of the steel stock is improved.
