PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a plate-like carbonaceous material excellent in surface precision by putting the plate-like formed product of a thermosetting resin, etc., between the cellulosic materials, etc., contracting to the same extent as the product and which are not thermally melted, heating, and calcining the product. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting resin alone is used, or a thermosetting resin is used as the matrix. A filler is added to the matrix, and the mixture is formed into a plate-like product. The cellulosic sheet or filmy material contracting to the same extent as the product, carbonizing in a solid phase, and which is not thermally melted is prepared. The product is put between the sheets or films, and the upper and lower parts of them are held by a holding plate. The product is then heated and calcined in an inert atmosphere. |
