PURPOSE:To restrain transition of a plasticizer from a protecting cover to a watertight inclusion so as to obtain a vinyl-covered watertight metallic wire of excellent workability, watertightness and strippableness by forming the watertight inclusion from a composition with a specific polymerization degree and a specific composition rate and having vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer as its main component. CONSTITUTION:A watertight inclusion 3 is formed from composition with a polymerization degree of 400 to 800 and containing 3 to 30 parts by weight of vinyl acetate, and vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer as its main component. The same plasticizer as that contained in vinyl composition forming a protecting cover 4 is used so that transition can be prevented. The content of the plasticizer should be in the range of 30 to 80 parts by weight against 100 parts by weight of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer; if it does not reach 30 parts by weight, then a sufficient plasticizing effect cannot be obtained, workability and stickiness are inferior, and transition of the plasticizer from ths protecting cover tends to occur: if it exceeds 80 parts by weight, softening is great and lowering of the strength is remarkable. |
