A humidification chamber 10 for use in the humidification of gases intended for inhalation is disclosed. The humidification chamber 10 is adapted to contain a volume of liquid 20, and comprises a gas inlet port 30 and a gas outlet port 30 such that gases flow, in use, through the humidification chamber 10. At least one baffle 50 extends downwardly from an interior surface of the humidification chamber 10. The at least one baffle 50 has a lower edge that is situated, in use, above an exposed surface of the liquid 20, and acts, in use, to deflect gases flowing from the gas inlet port 30 to the gas outlet port 30 downwardly towards the exposed surface of the liquid 20. |
