The combustion device has an atmospheric gas burner (2) that is assigned to a semi-automatic ignition and monitoring unit (5) and a pilot burner (3) for supplying a pilot flame. The pilot burner is burned in normal mode of a boiler (1). The ignition and monitoring unit is assigned to an electronic and liquid-tight encapsulated controlling unit (5.3) for new ignition of the pilot burner after interruption of the normal mode.
