The starting device has a storage container (2) for storing an immersion body (4). A hydraulically actuatable telescopic cylinder (14) is provided for the ejection of the immersion body from the storage container. The hydraulically actuatable telescopic cylinder is arranged in structure clearance of the storage container. A hydraulic accumulator (28) is arranged in an annular space around an outer, fixed cylinder of the telescopic cylinder for hydraulic power supply of the telescopic cylinder.
