The present invention relates to a battery pack and a control method thereof. The battery pack according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a plurality of rechargeable battery units; and a battery management unit which controls the charge and discharge of battery units, wherein the battery management unit monitors the battery units, calculates a dormant state duration time of the battery units, moves, when the dormant state duration time exceeds a preset time, electric energy from at least one of the battery units to the other battery unit such that each SOC value of the battery units is not included in the preset range, to control charge and discharge of the battery units. |
