PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reading device that can suppress image blur of a read image without increasing the size of the device.SOLUTION: There is provided a document reading device comprising a document reading part and a document conveying part, and having an automatic reading mode, where a contact glass 106 is arranged on a top face of the document reading part in a document reading area, and a Mylar 115 is arranged on the downstream side in a document conveyance direction of the contact glass 106 during the automatic reading mode. During the automatic reading mode, a document passed through the document reading area (top face of contact glass 106) comes into contact with the Mylar 115 to be directed to be conveyed upward and guided to a downstream-side conveyance path 114. When the leading end of the document collides with the Mylar 115, the Mylar 115 is deflected to absorb the impact of the collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
