<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a caliper, that has high rigidity light weight and high reliability by manufacturing front arm, head portion, rear arm and cylinder of caliper separately with steel plate and assembling them in a body afterward. CONSTITUTION:Front arm 4, head portion 3 and rear arm 2 are made of steel plate bent in ''C'' shape so that the front arm 4 and the rear arm 2 may form planes parallel to each other, and the front arm 4 abutting to an outer pad is provided with a notch 4a in its central lower area and the rear arm 2 is provided with a bore 5 in its approximately central area for fixing a cylinder 1 by welding. Furthermore, the cylinder 1 is formed by contracting steel plate and seal groove 6 and oil groove 7 are provided in its inner circumference so as to mount elastic seal annularly which is disposed to maintain a certain gap between the pad and rotor. Friction or electronic beam welding etc. is considered adequate for welding both.</p> |
