PURPOSE:To suppress the increase of noise and multipath reflection interference on a photodetecting element by making the surface of the photodetecting element and the projection slanting end surface of a fiber for transmission parallel to each other, and making all of fiber projection light incident on the photodetecting element surface. CONSTITUTION:The broken-line part of the tip part of an optical connector 22 is polished to form a polished surface 27 and an unpolished surface 26. When the fiber in the center of the connector is polished, further polishing need not be performed. In a figure theta is an angle of polishing and preferably 6 deg. for a sufficient decrease of a reflected return light component when a single-mode fiber SMF is used. Further, the slanting polished surface of the projecting slanting polished connector 28 for a fiber for transmission and the front glass 31 for protecting the photodetecting element are arranged in parallel to each other. Fiber projection light 102 is incident on the protection glass 31 at a large angle, so the quantity of multipath reflection interference on both surfaces of this glass decreases and small-distortion optical transmission is carried out.
