PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide superconductor having improved critical current density and thick film without lowering a critical temperature by molding powder having specific flatness degree and average particle diameter and calcining. CONSTITUTION:Calcined powder of oxide superconducting material such as YBa2Cu3O7-delta is ground by a jet mill into a particle size having >=2, especially 3-10 flatness degree (short diameter/thickness) on the average and 0.5-5.0mum, especially 1-3mum average particle diameter. The calcined powder is molded into a filmy state by doctor blade method and pressurized by calendering rolls to give a molded article having >=0.3, preferably >=0.5 f value, orientation degree. The molded article, in the case of YBaCuO base, is calcined in an O2 flow at 880-960 deg.C for 1-300 hours to give an oriented oxide superconductor. |
