The installation channel has a rail-shaped connection plate (3) which can be attached to a mounting surface (2), an arrangement which can be placed on the plate with an upper side wall, a lower side wall and an N-shaped supporting plate (15) between the side walls with openings (17) near the gas tapping couplings (4) dimensioned to allow the couplings to be fed through. A cover plate (7) attached to side wall end parts opposite the connection plate has lead-through openings (26) for the gas tapping couplings. An Independent claim is also included for the use of the channel for supplying power to equipment in a medical treatment room.
