PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new water-repellent material which exhibits water-repellent properties or super water-repellent properties and can keep anti-frost properties over a long period of time, and to provide a production method of the new water-repellent material.SOLUTION: The water-repellent material includes: a base material; and a hydrophobic film which is used for covering the surface of the base material and comprises a hydrophobic molecule. The hydrophobic film is constituted so that a ratio of the area to be occupied by an agglomerated particle, which has 1 μm or larger diameter and consists of the hydrophobic molecule, to that of an optional region of 100 μm square on the surface of the hydrophobic film is 2.0% or lower. It is preferable that at least a part of the hydrophobic molecule is bonded chemically to the surface of the base material. The water-repellent material is obtained by covering the surface of the base material with the hydrophobic molecule, cleaning the surface of the hydrophobic film-covered base material by a solvent and, if necessary, strengthening a chemical bond between the base material and the hydrophobic molecule.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
